Licensed Behavioral Health Counselor

|Description:||To provide outreach and engagement in an effort to promote behavioral health treatment to underserved residents in an urban setting. The counselor is responsible for helping clients achieve recovery, gain self-sufficiency and improve physical and emotional health. |
|Duties:||Responsibilities: The counselor is expected to guide and coordinate all aspects of the client’s treatment by providing case management and utilizing empathy, active listening, assessment, and engagement skills for clients with substance abuse disorders as well as those with both substance use and mental health disorders. The counselor is responsible for facilitating and documenting services provided while remaining aware of clients immediate needs in an effort to identify and execute appropriate treatment interventions. |
|Qualifications:||Requirements: Licensure in the State of CT (LCSW), Must have a work history that demonstrates the understanding of a consumer-driven delivery system, accomplishment, punctuality and the ability to work well with colleagues as part of a treatment team. Must have strong communications skills along with the interpersonal skills to work effectively at all levels of the organization and its stakeholders. Must be computer literate. Bi-lingual Spanish/English a huge plus.|
